About the Author:

Lynn Fitzgerald Macksey MSN, CRNA has extensive experience as a cardiothoracic intensive care nurse and has taught various nursing courses, including Advanced Cardiac Life Support and classes for Critical Care Registered Nurses. She also served as an adjunct clinical instructor at Seminole Community College. Mrs. Macksey has published three case studies in a peer-reviewed journal and has authored multiple anesthesia texts, including two pocket guides and a textbook on Surgical Procedures and Anesthetic Implications. She has presented at prestigious conferences, such as the Cleveland AANA meeting in 2006, and has been a guest lecturer at the Raleigh School of Nurse Anesthesia. Mrs. Macksey currently practices as a CRNA and serves as a clinical preceptor to nurse anesthesia students at the Raleigh School of Nurse Anesthesia in North Carolina.
